Hijaz College

Pioneering a Greater Future

Place to Study

A full social life can be enjoyed within the boundaries of the College. The different backgrounds and cultures of the students, originating from many countries around the world, provide a diversity and richness of culture from which all students can benefit. The timetable ensures that from 9 o’ clock in the morning till 11 o’clock at night, the students can enjoy a supervised timetable of pure academic and extra-curricular activities. This programme implemented over a period of 6 days a week ensures that the best is brought out in every student.

There have been regular trips organised to Holland, Belgium and France. Trips are also planned to Spain, Syria and Ummrah for students in order to open up new horizons for students. There are other regular local trips to conferences, assemblies, meeting leading academics, and other pleasure trips. At Hijaz, we appreciate the importance of exercising the mind, the body and the soul. Students may return home on the weekends after Saturday morning lessons. Every three weeks students have a long weekend holiday which requires them to return home after Jummah on Friday and return Sunday night. Foreign students must stay with local guardians. Students are not allowed on site during long weekends and holiday periods.

At Hijaz the timetable is intensive, so it is important that students learn to organise their time as efficiently as possible. They should go to sleep at appointed times, and ensure that they exercise as regularly as possible. Should students need any help in time management or tips on how to keep fit - mentally and physically – they have the Welfare Officer to help them.

Child Protection

At Hijaz we have a child protection policy recognizing the fundamental rights of protecting pupils from all aspects of abuse.

Hijaz recognizes its legal and moral duty to ensure that all of its pupils have a safe and comfortable environment to learn and live within.

All our staff have been trained in understanding the importance of child protection as part of their responsibility for pastoral care. The college also appreciates that abuse can stem from the home, school, or even a child's relatives.

Students should feel free to talk about any of your concerns to members of staff and rest assured that their worries and fears will be taken seriously. However staff cannot guarantee confidentiality if concerns are such that referral must be made to the appropriate agencies (National Care Students Commission) in order to safeguard the child's welfare.
